IAE Aix & Art

Our Approach

Exposition Avril 2005

The IAE Aix has always displayed a strong innovative streak and commitment to move onwards from the mainstream discipline of management. Since September 1999, it has charted new waters by hosting exhibitions of works by contemporary artists from the region (painters, sculptors, photographers...).

This initiative, taken by the Professor of Finance, Jacques Isetta with the collaboration of Aix-en-Provence City Hall, has transformed the entrance hall into a centre of expression and communication. "Companies are urging us to train innovative and creative graduates, so we wanted to introduce our students to a world that they were unfamiliar with", Jacques Isetta explains. "We would like to cultivate the managerial side (the brain's left hemisphere) and the artistic side (the brain's right hemisphere) in tandem." Every art show starts off with an opening viewing and chance for students to meet the artist, and the exhibitions last 5-6 weeks.
